7TH ANNUAL WINGS, WHEELS, ROTORS & EXPO

The Seventh Annual “Wings, Wheels and Rotors Expo” at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, will again be presented by the Los Alamitos Area Chamber of Commerce and the JFTB.  The show will be on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. until 4 p.m., on the tarmac of the Army Airfield.

We expect more than 150 vendors to be exhibiting everything from crafts to military related items. The expo area is being expanded and increase to more than 150 space.

  Spaces ranges from a 10x10 foot, to 10x30 foot and rates vary from $250 up to $400.  Food vendor spaces area also available. Applications may be obtained by calling the Chamber at (562) 598-6659; or on-line at www.WWRExpo.net.

“We are anticipating between 25,000 and 30,000 visitors. Senske added, noting that admission is free for this day long event. Adults will need a photo identification card when entering the Base.

A special Kids Corner will offer free hands-on activities for youngsters, from coloring contests to making of wooden planes.

The show includes military and civilian airplanes, helicopters and a large custom car show.  Applications are also available for those wanting to enter their cars and vie for the many trophies that will be awarded. Returning this year will be several half-hour demonstrations of radio-controlled miniature war bird planes (with wing spans of 10 feet and larger).

Entertainment is also being planned along with the static displays of helicopters and planes.  A special area will be designated for many Orange and Los Angeles County police and fire agencies to exhibit their specialty vehicles and equipment, including SWAT teams and Urban Search and Rescue Units.
